Sweden has such a long ski season and so many ski resorts to choose from that it will leave even the most demanding skiers spoiled for choice. The Kingdom of Sweden, located in the far North of Europe, offers a wide range of ski resorts for all tastes and levels. Additionally, Sweden offers many activities that do not involve any skis-like husky sledding, horse riding, and ice fishing-making it the ideal winter holiday destination for families and for mixed groups of skiers and non-skiers.  Search the Expedia website for a list of local hotels.

Sweden skiing

Sweden is famous for its saunas, and rolling around in the snow after having relaxed your tired body in the sauna, is one of those experiences that make a winter holiday in this country something altogether different. Add to that the abundant amounts of snow, the unspoiled nature, and the stunning scenery of the Swedish mountains, and you know you have found something special.

Sweden offers perfectly groomed slopes, night skiing, and cross-country skiing-with the 425 km long King’s Trail being a little longer than most skiers have experienced before. Multiple-day guided tours with accommodation are available for those wanting to ski this trail. Sweden is not cheap, but the infrastructure, accommodation, food and equipment are all of high standard.
