Summit Lake Ski area, Nakusp, Canada

The town of Nakusp is a small neighborhood located near the banks of Upper Arrow Lake in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. Summit Lake Ski area, located in Nakusp,  is open from Wednesday to Sunday during the hours of 10AM – 3:30PM. Night time skiing is also allowed when announced and will be during the hours or 6:00Pm to 9:00PM only. This ski hill has been managed by volunteers for the past 30 years.

Daily grooming is performed on the runs and skiers are taken up the slopes in a T-bar or Rope tow. Skiing and snowboarding may be achieved on the ten runs which range from beginner to expert levels as Beginner – 50%, Intermediate – 40% and Expert – 10%. Annual snowfall is about 3.8 meters (12.5 ft). The hill has a vertical of 152 meters (500 ft).

The lift capacity is about 700 skiers per hour and night skiing is allowed. Skiable area is about 30 acres which also includes cross-country trails.
This small ski resort has a ski shop with rentals, gives lessons on skiing and snowboarding with qualified instructors and has a good selection of expert runs as well as bunny hill and beginner areas.

The recreational centre in Nakusp includes an ice rink, curling rink and outdoor attractions such as tennis courts and a soccer field.
