There are no less than six restaurants on the slopes of Sugarloaf, including the Widowmaker Lounge, which also includes a bar and night club. The Sugarloaf resort has evolved over the years since the first trail was cut and is now an extremely popular ski resort in North America.

I spent 3 days at Sugarloaf and I was lucky enough to be graced with fresh powder every day. It was quite crowded but the lines moved quickly as the lifts were pretty fast. The top of the slopes are not marked very well so beginner and intermediate level skiers should pay close attention to their maps. The slopes were great with a variety of terrain to handle. Sugarloaf is a fun mountain to ski. The staff is helpful. The ski patrol is awesome because they had to rescue a beginner skier from an expert area because they didn't read the map. Sugarloaf is definitely a good place to ski.

Sugarloaf ski resort

We had a great season, I loved it there! Nice conditions, the lift was the bomb, in a about seven minutes you'll be almost 1800 feet high up on the hill. Sugarloaf has the only lift above treeline skiing in the East. Since the 'Loaf has good altitude and elevation, it holds snow pretty well for a really long skiing season, well into Spring, till about beginning of June sometimes. But be careful! It is considered a tough terrain, with its icy and steep runs. So if you are a great skier, looking for a challenge, try some of the triple black diamond trails there - "Blade Glade", "Can't Hook Glade", "Kurf" and "Stump Shot". If you are just looking for a good time, there are easier trails. Sugarloaf has it all, snow, fun, cool crowd, and the parties too!
