Snow Valley Ski Club is located about 15 minutes from the city of Edmonton. This resort has been around since the 1940s in 1,030 acres of land between the North Saskatchewan River and the junction of two creeks, Whitemud Creek and Blackmud Creek. Accommodations are available in its 17,800 sq ft mountain lodge that was built in the summer of 2001. This facility is run as a not-for-profit organization.
The Ski resort is open Monday through Friday from 9:30AM to 9:00PM. On weekends, operating hours are from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. There are two terrain parks including one beginner terrain park. There are eight ski trails and the terrain is mostly for beginner skiers and snowboarders with about 15% of the area selected for superior skiers.
This resort has one pulse Quad chairlift, one Triple chairlift and two magic carpets. The vertical drop is about 130 ft and night skiing is allowed. Snowmaking is 100% although the annual average snowfall is about 48 inches.
Skiing lessons for adults and children include Alpine downhill skiing, Cross Country skiing, Telemark skiing and Snowboarding.
Events planned for families and individuals include the Baba Yaga trail Adventures, Valentine’s day and Alberta Family day.
