To the west of Sydney in New South Wales lies Perisher Blue Mountain . The Perisher Blue Ski Resort is an eventual snowfield area based in these snowy mountains. Well known for its top-notch amenities; Perisher Blue Resort is believed to be the most visited and popular year round mountain resort. It   is the southern hemisphere's largest ski resort made up of four prevalent smaller resorts, those being Perisher Valley , Smiggins Holes, Guthega and Blue Cow Mountain . It is considered to be a great place to enjoy horse-riding, fishing or hiking during summers and it is one of the country's most liked snow playgrounds during winters.

This Australian ski resort has direct contact to a total of about 50 ski lifts. The ski resort itself is above 1500 metres; so skiing or boarding back to the resort is mostly possible. The resort is able to enhance natural snow through the use of 142 Snow Cannons. The 50 Ski Lifts of Perisher Blue ski resort are able to support 52,903 skiers/ snowboarders per hour. Snow packed gum trees, tiny Pygmy Possums, Wombats, Kangaroos as well as a vast range of other interesting flora and fauna can be found in the Perisher Blue and the adjoining National Park.

The snow season in this part of the Australia is from early June to early October, with a snowfall average close to three metres recorded each year. Perisher Blue has a highest lifted point of 2034 metres with an underground railway known as the Skitube which takes guests from below the snowline, up throughout the mountain and into the resort.

The Perisher Blue Ski Resort has an extensive range of accommodation to match the entire winter ski and snowboard accommodation needs. Perisher Blue accommodation consist of ski lodges, cottages, hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation. The resort comprises of all equipment needs, skis, boards and clothing available for hire or purchase as well as fine accommodation, retail shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment. In all accommodations one may find all rooms equipped well with central heating, television, refrigerator, tea & coffee making facilities. The resort has more than 60 lodges that offer the convenience of ski-in/ski-out access.

The Perisher Blue is comfortably accessible by car. It hardly takes 30 minutes to drive the road from Jindabyne to Perisher Valley Alpine Village. From Sydney , it is a 5-6 hours drive, which makes Perisher Blue as well as the adjacent Thredbo ski resort accessible to both Sydney and Canberra.
