Pec pod Snezkou Ski resort, The Czech Republic

Snezka (Snow) is the highest mountain in Czech Republic and Pec pod Sněžkou is the starting point in the route up to it. This ski mountain is accessible by car from Prague International Airport.

Pec pod Snezkou

The summit of Pec pod Snezkou is 1,602 metres above sea level and it is one of the largest in area of all Czech Republic Ski areas. The vertical drop here is 1624 ft. The weather here is similar to that experienced near the Polar circle with a snow cover for over 5 months a year. In the valley of the mountain, many types of accommodation including hotels, lodging houses, hotels and entertainment places abound.

Pec pod Sněžkou has 1 Quad Chair lift and 9 other ski lifts which deliver a transport capacity of 9570 persons per hour. 3 ski lifts are enabled with lighting facilities for night skiing. This site has the advantage of having the longest night skiing in the Czech Republic as well as the most illuminated downhill slope in the area.

The terrain is rated Beginner – 23%, Intermediate – 72% and Advanced – 5% and the longest run is 1.2 miles. The runs here are developed for all levels of skiers and include a wide range of trails, some with meadows and level ground and others with challenging runs.

There are 10.4 km of downhill slopes which are maintained daily with artificial snowmaking.  There is a snow park for snowboarding enthusiasts and the Giant Mountain main track here is devoted to Cross-country skiers.

Hotel Horizont
Hotel Horizont is located in the very centre of the Pec pod Sněžkou mountain resort, at the foot of the highest mountain of the Giant Mountains - Sněžka.

Pension Svoboda
The Pension Svoboda can be found on the Great Sun Plain in Pec pod Sněžkou, about 500 metres from the centre, and offers you a heated outdoor jacuzzi. Located in the centre of the Sněžkou ski resort at the base of the Giant Mountains, Hotel Hvězda offers cosy, rustic rooms with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy dinner from Hvězda Hotel’s restaurant, which serves traditional Czech dishes. In the summer months it is possible to enjoy meals outside on the terrace. Refreshments are available from the bar. All of the rooms at the hotel feature LCD TVs and have central heating. The en suite bathrooms come with free toiletries.
   
Pension Bouda Máma

The Pension Bouda Máma is situated 120 metres from the chair lift to the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, the Snezka in the Giant Mountains, and boasts an indoor swimming pool. There is also a whirlpool, a bowling alley, billiard tables, outdoor tennis courts, fitness facilities, a solarium and a sauna. The floodlit tennis court is used as an ice rink in winter.
