The sunny days here enable skiers to enjoy the snow on the sunny slopes while the warm Mediterranean winters prevent avalanches and snow storms and allows skiers to enjoy the ski area all season.

This is one of the best known and oldest ski resorts in Bulgaria. Situated in the heart of the scenic Rhodopi mountain, beautiful both winter and summer time. The resort enjoys normally mild and sunny winter, no wind, and simply has perfect conditions for skiing, and snowboarding. To get there, you'll need to travel southeast from the capital city Sofia, it's a 3-4 hour drive. From Plovdiv, the 2nd biggest city in Bulgaria, it's about an hour away. We went there with a few friends in 2007. And we had an awesome time! What's also nice, they have many ski instructors, so if you need lessons, it's easy to book one. People working at the resort are really friendly, even tough their English is not quite perfect. If you have some extra time, go and see some local attractions like the neighboring villages, and Plovdiv which has plenty of cultural and historic landmarks.
