Nitehawk Ski area, Alberta, Canada

This Ski Club was originally incorporated as a non-profit society more than half a century ago on the banks of Smoky River near the town of Bezanson in Grand Prairie, Alberta. It was moved to the current location in 1972. This ski area is open from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, weather permitting. Almost 40,000 visitors visit this ski Hill that is run as a non-profit organization.

Included in the facilities are a Luge track, Gravity Mountain Bike Park, Convention facility and Wilderness Campground. Discount accommodations are available at the Stanford Inn which also allows guests to get 25% off lift passes, lessons and rentals at Nitehawk.

There are nine exciting runs at Nitehawk for skiers and snowboarders of all ages, sizes and abilities. Also installed are a Triple chair lift, a Platter lift and the wonder carpet which allow skiers to enjoy day or night skiing with the help of fully illuminated runs.

The season runs from early December till the end of March. The facility offers instructor certification programs and full rental, repair and tuning shop with 250 sets of rental skis and 100 snowboards.
Nitehawk also has a freestyle terrain park for skiers of all levels with half-pipe, table tops, rails and various features which may be used in endless combinations to help riders get better at the sport.

This facility is closed on Mondays. The runs are open from 5:30PM to 9:30PM Tuesday through Thursday. From Friday through Sunday, the ski area is open from 10:00AM until 5PM.

Other activities in this park include Lift-Assisted Downhill Mountain Biking with the most vertical of any park in Alberta – a steep 525 ft along a most diverse terrain. Winter events include Arctic Winter Games, Rail Jam Competition, etc. There are plans to add more trails, a skills park, Dirt Jump Park with Berms, Log Rides, Teeter Totters, Doubles, Skinnies, Drops and Tabletops for summer.
