Mount Norquay ski resort, Alberta, Canada

One of the best family ski resorts in Banff National Park is Mount Norquay where the terrain is family friendly with groomed runs, bumps and a terrain park with illuminated runs. Night skiing is allowed in this park and children and adults can enjoy snow tubing through the designated slopes with the use of rope tow and three chutes. Mount Norquay is also famous for training world class Olympic and World Cup athletes.

This park is located about 6km (4 miles) from the town of Banff in the province of Alberta in Canada. It is less than two hours away by car from Calgary International Airport. Visitors may also avail the bus services to the hotels in the Banff area from the airport.

The elevation of the ski area is about 2133 meters at the top with a vertical of 503meters (1.650 ft). The longest run is 1167 meters (3,828 ft).  The park is open from early December to mid-April from 9:00AM to 4:00PM daily.

To enable the skiers to reach the top, there are many lifts including 1 high speed quad chairlift, 2 fixed grip quad chairlifts, 1 double chairlift and 1 surface lift. The average snowfall here is 300cm (12 inches) and the terrain is divided in the ratio of 20% Beginner, 36% Intermediate, 28% Advanced and 16% Expert. There are a total of 28 runs.

There are many types of lessons offered here ranging from Junior programs to Adult lessons for all ages. Weddings, Get-togethers, Reunions and other parties are arranged in the Cascade Lodge.
