Livigno ski resort, Italy

ski hotels

Livigno is the highest liveable resort in Italy and is situated close to the Swiss border. Its height assures it of good snow falls however the slopes really only offer intermediate and beginner runs.

Livigno is nearly as popular for it’s shopping as it is for skiing, this is mainly due to the duty free status. Livigno has over 30 lifts and most of these are in the village, free buses are kept busy going to and fro. Livigno is made up for three villages, located near the Swiss/Italian border. San Antonio is regarded as the centre of the village, with Santa Maria only one kilometre north and San Rocco on the south side.

Experts will not be so impressed, Intermediate will have plenty to entertain, but it’s the beginners and snow boarders who will love it here. There are plenty of nursery slopes and a huge Terrain park. The on slope dining is good and the villages have plenty of reasonably priced eateries.

Hotels are many and good value as well, this all makes Livigno very attractive to the budget conscience skier.
