A popular ski destination for residents of nearby Munich, Lenggries offers skiers and boarders 10 pistes totaling 100km, 8 lifts, a resort altitude of 700m, the famous "Garland" slope and plenty of bowls with fresh dry powder. Lenggries has been the home of the world renowned Snowboard Europa cup, therefore, boarding at Lenggries is outstanding with varied terrain for every level of boarder and plenty of jumps, cornices and bowls for the more adventurous.

Lenggries is a historic city, with several museums and historic structures dotting its streets. The architecture of the area is largely of a Bavarian influence, giving the city's many accommodations a special charm and warmth. You will find a full range of lodging options for your stay in Lenggries. You can choose from beautiful hotels ranging from two to four stars, budget inns, guest houses, and private rooms during your visit to the area. With such a variety of accommodations to choose from, you can create your ideal holiday, staying either in the main districts of the town or nestled in the countryside.



The slopes of Lenggries are quieter during the week, but ski traffic picks up significantly on weekends. The slopes reach an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. Slope runs are available for beginners and children, intermediate levels, and advanced levels. There is even a world cup slope if you're looking for a real challenge. The slopes are serviced by ninety gondolas, three chair lifts, and sixteen drag lifts, providing you with a relaxing and scenic ride to the top.

For a quick break on the slopes, you can choose from among eight alpine huts giving you a place for food and drinks.

In the valley near the peak of Brauneck awaits four cross country tracks, from seven to twenty-two kilometers in length. For night cross country action, two of the tracks are well-lit.


Other Activities

When you aren't skiing, Lenggries offers you plenty of activities. There is a childcare service available, if you need some personal time to yourselves. A sleigh ride through the snow is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Or try the toboggan runs in Lenggries for an unbelievable experience. The German game of Eisstockschiessen is very popular, and can be described as something akin to both shuffleboard and curling. Ice skating, ice hockey, and swimming at the indoor pools and whirlpools at the Isarwelle pool complex are all popular way to spend time in Lenggries. Lenggries also offers a ski school, where you can take a lesson or two to improve your technique on the slopes. You can also shop at the area's many charming shops, or spend time browsing the local museum exhibits to learn more about the area's rich history and culture.
