Le Relais Ski resort, Canada

ski hotels

Cold and white winters inspired tourism along the banks of the Saint Lawrence River. Visitors from other cities in Canada and the USA ignored this land until the Le Relais resort and ski center was established in 1936. Ironically, it was during the depths of the Great Depression in North America that the idea of creating a ski hill was nurtured and bore fruit with the opening of Le Relais in January 1938.

This was the home of the first woman only ski school. The operating hours are from 9 AM to 9:30 PM from Monday to Thursday. Friday through Sunday, the hours vary from 8:30 AM to 10 PM. Night skiing begins at 4 PM.

There are 29 trails 4 glades, 3 parks and 7 lifts in the park. Night skiing is offered on 25 trails too on this large ski area of 173 fantastic acres.

The vertical drop of the hill is 224 meters and the summit is at 429 meters. The 29 trails are rated Beginner – 22%, Intermediate – 23%, Advanced – 38% and Expert – 17%.  The longest run is 2055 meters.

The seven lifts include a Single lift, Double lift, Quad chair, High speed Double, Single lift, Detachable Quad chair and a Magic carpet delivering an amazing uphill capacity of 10280 people per hour.

The terrain parks include a number of rails, jumps, boxes, wallride and a quarter pipe.
