Experience the thrill of a ski holiday in the unforgettable location of La Thuile, a beautiful ski resort tucked away in the Western Alps near the Italian and French border. La Thuile provides ski enthusiasts with a breathtakingly unspoiled ski experience. La Thuile originally was a separate resort area from the French resort of La Rosiere. Since the 1930s, a system of large ski lifts and chair lifts were built gradually, linking the two resorts together.
The large majority of accommodations for La Thuile are located across the French border, in the area known as La Rosiere. In La Rosiere, you will find a range of overnight lodging options, including beautiful lodge-style resorts, budget inns, campsites, and fully-furnished long-term apartments.
Accommodations on the Italian side of the resort are limited.
La Thuile provides skiers with one of the most technologically advanced lift systems in the country, with a DMC cable car system. You will also find seven quad chairlifts, and a variety of other chairlifts and ski lifts. This ensures you with a smooth and fast trip to the top of the slopes, with little wait time in lines. The artificial snow machines ensure that the slopes are evenly covered with ideal snow conditions throughout the ski season.
You can enjoy an expansive variety of ski trails and runs, with over 150 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes on both Mont Blanc and Mount Rutor. Everyone from the beginner to the expert will find a large variety of runs down the scenic slopes, ensuring plenty of variety on your ski vacation. Experienced skiers will want to try their skills on the legendary Number Three slope, which has been the site of ski competitions and reaches inclines of 73%. For a memorable ski experience, you will find a historic run on Number Seven, which takes you past forts and huts used in World War II. Several Nordic ski trails are also located in La Thuile.
When you work up an appetite on the slopes, you will have a number of dining options without leaving the mountains. La Thuile features nine huts located throughout the ski terrain, offering a variety of snacks, drinks, and full meals.
