Hockley Valley Ski resort, Canada

Owned by Mario and Nancy Adamo, Hockley Valley Ski resort exists on 135 acres of spectacular wilderness. The championship golf course was envisioned and planned by the famous Canadian architect Thomas McBroom. To get to this resort, visitors can drive from the Ontario or Toronto airport.

The average snowfall in Hockley Valley is 254 cm. There are five lifts on this ski area for a total lift capacity of 1200 persons per hour. There is a total of 15 ski trails in this resort which is spread out over 31 acres of land. The trail difficulty is in the ratio Beginners – 20%, Intermediate – 30%, Advanced – 40% and Expert – 10%.

Surface conditions here are packed powder or loose granular snow. The base depth is about 2 ft to 20 inches. The vertical drop is 250 ft (76 meters).

There is also an 8,000 sq. ft luxurious spa that guests can enjoy après ski or on weekends. The resort is open for skiing from Monday to Friday 9AM – 4PM while the hours are from 9Am – 4:30 PM on weekends and holidays. Also, night skiing is allowed on 10 trails from 5PM – 10PM on weekends.
