Hemlock Valley Ski Resort, Canada

ski hotels

Harrison Mills is located in the Fraser Valley near the meeting place of three rivers; Harrison, Chehalis and Fraser.  Around this beautiful city is an eternal mountain landscape of unspoiled wilderness. This city is about two hours of travel by car from Vancouver.

Hemlock Valley Ski Resort is about 8.5 miles (14km) from Harrison Bay. This recreation park is used in winter for skiing and snowboarding as well as in summer for mountain biking. The snow pattern varies according to the weather because of the proximity of this land to the Pacific Ocean. This ski hill is usually open from December to March.

This site has three chairlifts; one Triple chair and two Double chair lifts along with a handle tow for beginners. The lift capacity is about 4,000 skiers per hour. This alpine community and family recreation park offers downhill skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing and a tube park. Night skiing is offered.

The vertical here is 396 meters (1,300 ft) with 35 runs rated 20% for Novice, 60% for Intermediate and 20% for advanced skiers. The longest run is 1.4 miles (2.3km). Annual snowfall here is about 4.5 meters (15 ft).
Hemlock Valley
Hemlock has 13km of trails for cross-country skiing which are not groomed. It also offers a terrain park with hand cut jumps, fabricated rails and bonks. This site is open from 9:00AM everyday except on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The closing time varies on the days when Night Skiing is allowed when the resort stays open until 8:00PM.

Most vehicles coming to this resort are required to carry tire cables or chains as the condition of the road to this mountain depends greatly on erratic weather patterns in the area. It is possible that a bright and sunny morning can quickly turn into a winter storm by the evening.

Due to the proximity to three beautiful rivers, trout fishing, salmon fishing and Sturgeon fishing are popular.
