Flaine ski resort, Huate-Savoie region, France

ski hotels

Located in the Huate-Savoie region of France, and close to Geneva and Mont Blanc is Flaine. The resort is a part of the very large ski area called Le Grand Massif. The snow falls here are very reliable and the skiing is varied, with over 133 runs covering 265 kilometres. Flaine is car free and family friendly, with great facilities for children.

However, experts will not be disappointed as all the black runs are very black runs! Confident intermediates are provided with plenty of challenges as well.

Highlights here are the excellent nursery slopes. Snowboarders are well looked after, with a terrain park and plenty of off piste areas. So there really is something for the whole family or groups.

Flaine

Because of it family friendly style most of the accommodation is self catering apartments and chalets. There is plenty of eateries on the slopes but they are mainly self serve and do get crowded at times.

Due to Flaine being a purpose built resort there is not much to do if you re not there for the skiing. However, the other village, Les Carroz which shares the same fields has plenty of activities and is worth exploring.
