Cypress Mountain ski resort, Canada

The Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range border the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada, which has been recognized as one of the world’s most “livable cities”. Vancouver is the eighth largest city in Canada and has one of the mildest climates in the whole country.

Visitors can reach the 600 acres of skiable terrain on Cypress Mountain through the Vancouver International Airport.  The 2010 Olympic Winter Events were held here including Moguls, Aerials, Ski Cross, Snowboarding, Snowboard Cross, Parallel Giant Slalom and Half Pipe.
Cypress Mountain has a vertical rise of 610 meters (2010 ft) and it has nine lifts (6 chair lifts and 3 surface lifts).

The average snowfall here is over 30 feet. There are 53 ski runs with Beginner - 13%, Intermediate - 35%, Advanced - 37%, Expert - 8% and freestyle terrain - 8%. The longest combination run is 4.1 km.

Hours of operation may vary due to weather conditions. However, on most days, weather permitting, and the park is open from 9AM to 4PM. Activities at this resort include Alpine Skiing and Riding on the 53 trails, Junior Lesson camps in snowboarding, Drop-in lessons and Private lessons.

The Snowtube Park allows the visitor to feel the childhood-thrill of sliding down the chutes with an unharnessed sense of adventure only to go back up in the tube tow all over again. Snowshoeing has also become very popular in recent years. On the Nordic area of the mountain, one can trek through snowy mountain glades and inviting vistas while discovering the pristine beauty that unfolds ahead.
