Located at Ingonish Harbour in one of Canada’s most popular destinations, Cape Smokey Ski Resort is among the region’s best ski hills with a large number of runs from beginners to double diamond glade runs.
The original “Cape Smokey”, the namesake for the ski hill above, is a spectacular peninsula close to the Atlantic Ocean which is popular with cycling buffs and motorists alike for its difficult terrain and trails on the way to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The Cape Smokey Ski Resort is located in the Cape Breton Highlands of Nova Scotia.
There are sixteen runs overlooking pristine wilderness and spectacular landscapes. The vertical is about 1000 ft and there are two lifts which service the runs and trails. It is Nova Scotia’s highest ski mountain and has an elevation of 320meters. The 305 meters of skiable terrain is filled with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
This ski area gets an annual average snowfall of 381 cm. Due to financial problems, this ski area was closed for the past five years. There are plans to open it in the near future.
