Bonneval sur Arc ski resort, France

ski hotels

Sitting in a region right on the France-Italy border, the town is an ancient village situated on a mountain; so it has easy access to the slopes. Primarily a resort for beginners – just over half of the slopes are green – one-quarter are intermediate blue runs and the remainder are advanced (single black diamond). The slopes have no gondolas or trams and eleven lifts, and you can do cross-country skiing on eighty kilometers of pistes.

You can access the area via the TGV train, which gives easy connection to Paris and other regions, and the Chambery and Geneva airports are within a few hours of the region. There are two lodges and three hotels on the slopes, and a number of bars and restaurants. A bakery provides local cuisine and there is also a cheese dairy.
