Ontario has its share of beautiful landscape and majestic mountains and valleys. Tucked into this charming little hamlet of Batawa is this little ski hill which can be reached by car from Trenton or in less than an hours drive from via the Kingston Airport in Ontario. This ski hill was originally established in 1955 by Mr. Thomas Bata and his group of employees from the Bata shoe factory in town.
The vertical drop here is 570 ft (174 meters) and the skiable area is a fantastic 10 acres of gorgeous terrain which receives about 30 inches (76 cm) of snowfall every year. Snowmaking is about 75%.
This small ski hill has 7 runs with trail ratings of Beginners - 25%, Intermediate – 50% and Advanced 25%. The slopes are steep enough to challenge the expert skiers. The longest run is 2,500 ft (762 meters).
There are three lifts including 1 surface lift, 1 chair lift and a cabin lift for an uphill capacity of 1,200 persons per hour. This ski area is open from 9AM – 10PM and night skiing is from 4:30PM – 10 PM.
