Anzere ski resort, Rhone Valley, Switzerland

ski hotels

Anzere is a small, family orientated resort, situated 1,500 metres above the Rhone Valley. The ski slopes range from altitudes of 1500 to 2500 metres, offering 12 lifts and only about 40km of easy runs. The slopes are not high and face south, so the snow can be unpredictable. Beginners can get off to a good start on the nursery slopes and it is also a good resort for snow boarding beginners. Accommodation is more in the range of apartments but there are 3 hotels as well. Restaurants are available on the slopes. A highlight of the evening is the vin chaud offered in the village. For the non skiers there is a great 3km toboggan run, as well as plenty of walks, ice skating and local vineyards to visit.

Accommodations

Lodging is available throughout the area. Hotels, holiday houses, apartments, and cottages of all sizes and price ranges can be reserved. Typical hotels and apartments have nice modern amenities and are near ski areas.

Tracks/Slopes

30 of the 40 kilometers of ski runs consist of intermediate level routes. This obviously lends itself to being a great place for mid-level skiers and snowboarders. There are beginner and expert runs totaling 5 kilometers each. There are a total of ten lifts and one cable car.

Other Activities

There a total of 7 bars for the adults to relax or party in. For those who want to dance there are 2 discos. The entire family can enjoy the indoor swimming pool, fitness center, children’s park, and child piste.
