Family ski resorts

ski hotels

For an unforgettable family ski holiday, why not enjoy the unique experience of travelling to the spectacular North Pole and paying a visit to its most famous resident – Santa Claus!  The North Pole is located in Lapland, and there is an excellent family style ski resort in the small town of Levi.  The slopes of the Levi ski resort are great for beginners and there is a huge range of non-skiing family activities for you to enjoy.

One of the most amazing of these wonderful experiences involves taking an enchanting sleigh ride with real reindeers to visit Santa in his workshop!  This is a real treat that is only possible in Lapland, so it is clearly an experience that is not to be missed.  You can also take your family on a unique and exciting dog sled ride pulled by the beautiful and strong huskies. This is a holiday treat that the kids will never forget!

A popular North American ski resort that is consistently voted as one of the best family ski resorts is Big White, located 56km from the city Kelowna in British Columbia, Canada.  Big White has an award winning “Kid’s Center” that offers child-minding, ski lessons and other activities to keep the little ones cared for and entertained while the adults enjoy the freedom of the mountain.  Big White also has a range of services to help you enjoy your family time together.  These include horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, tubing and much more.

A good family ski resort option in Europe is Flaine in France.  This is a very popular choice for parents thanks to the impressive range of activities to keep children entertained, both on and off the mountain.  Some of the facilities available at Flaine include a swimming pool, ice-skating rink, bowling alley, climbing wall and cinema.  There is a crèche which takes children over the age of six months old.  And, there is also a gallery and library for parents to enjoy.
